£100K TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE: WINNER Andrea Lost 4st 7lbs* & WON £1000 Cash!

Andrea’s confidence had hit rock bottom. She avoided socialising, had no confidence, hated having her photo taken, her mental health was at an all time low, she had no energy and her kids were worried about her. She knew she needed to make a change to her life, get healthy and improve her mood, once and for all. After coming across The New You Plan online, she ordered a 21-day bundle and hasn’t looked back. She has lost 4st 7lbs and won £1000 cash in our Jan/Feb £100k Transformation Challenge.

Here is her story…

New You: Andrea, why did you decide to join the challenge?

Andrea: I entered the challenge because I was proud of myself, and so were my family. I wanted people who were thinking of joining the plan, to see how good it is and that it worked. Before, I never liked having my photo taken, and now at every opportunity, I’m asking everybody to take them. Every time I buy a new item of clothing I need to see what it looks like. The challenge is quite good because it makes you take photos so you can see your progress.

New You: Was there anything that helped you stay on-track while doing the challenge?

Andrea: Keeping myself on track during the challenge, but in general, on the plan, was to keep a diary every day on what I wanted to achieve. This included things like small goals such as going into the next stone bracket, getting into the next size down in a dress etc. I also recorded my weight and inches on an app, which I still do. Even the kids got involved! Every week they’d tell me that it was time to do my weigh in & update my charts. I really do think that the journals are good for your mindset as well. Because if you’re having a bad day, it helps you to focus on what has triggered it. To me, it stops me from having those blips and reminds me that I’m human, my feelings are natural, I’m a person, and it happens.

New You: Did you hit any milestone during it?

Andrea: I hit my target, which was four and a half stone. I didn’t actually have a target when I joined because I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to cope with it, or if it would work. So one was to hit four and a half stone, which I’ve done, and another was to get into a healthy BMI, which I’m now in, which is brilliant. Now my next milestone is to hit five stone.

New You: We’d love to know how you heard about the plan!

Andrea: I came across an advert for The New You Plan on Facebook so I clicked on it and I started to look into it and what it was all about. I also looked into other companies, but The New You Plan offered me a 21-day bundle, which I thought was great. I didn’t really want to calorie count. I didn’t want to do any of that because I’ve done different diets before and none have been successful. The bundle really appealed to me because all I had to do was buy it for those 3 weeks. I could pick any 4 products I needed and a snack. It seemed really easy to do that’s why I went with it.

Getting started…

New You: What led to you starting the plan?

Andrea: Before I started the plan in July 23, I never went out. My confidence was really at rock bottom. My family was struggling, and my mental health was really bad. I wasn’t in a good place. I had no energy. I didn’t want to do anything or be where there was a crowd, even though people never sensed that from me.

New You: And tell us about that first week…

Andrea: It wasn’t easy. I had a headache for two days from day two as obviously, I guess, my body was detoxing. But I focused on having my 4 meals a day and a snack if I needed it and just keep sipping water and hoped it would get easier. I just focused on every day, and every day did get easier, and I felt better in myself, and I was excited for the first weigh in. I can remember stepping onto the scales for the first week, and I’d lost 8 pounds, and it just felt great. So, the plan does work if you focus on it.

New You: What are your go-to meals & snacks?

Andrea: The Strawberry Shake is my favourite. It always has been. It tastes creamy and like something you shouldn’t be having. I always make mine with a less water so that it’s like a mousse. It makes me feel like I’m having a bit of a treat, really.

Life changing…

New You: How would you say the plan has changed your life?

Andrea: I saw a photo of myself from my Mum’s birthday party last year and I knew I needed to help myself. I knew how I felt and how I looked. I didn’t like that. I had no energy or confidence. My mental health really was at rock bottom. I needed something easy that didn’t involve calorie counting. I just needed a strict plan that I could focus and concentrate on. I struck gold when I found The New You Plan. It was everything I wanted. I could do it on the run while at football every weekend. I’m out everyday and I needed something that I could just grab quickly that doesn’t involve counting calories or weighing food.

I hated clothes shopping, but now I just love it and I just can’t get enough. All the compliments I’ve received is so nice. And sometimes you think, wow, they are actually talking about me.

I’ve never had any energy. My mental health has always been low and I never used to eat properly before – I just lived on coffee. My Mum told me off one day because the kids grassed on me for not eating food for two days. I realised then that the kids were young and don’t want anything to happen to me, so I had to make a change in my life. I had to be healthy. I had to get my mental health up.

Since being on plan and losing the weight, I have a lot more energy. My mental health has improved massively, which has made my family really happy because obviously I’m happier. I can do more exercise now as I don’t feel like anybody’s looking at me when I go running or in the gym.

New You: What is the nicest compliment you have received since losing weight?

Andrea: My favourite so far is from my kids. They came down one day and they said: “Wow, Mum, you look amazing. You’re a right Skinny Minnie.” My son’s just made me a Mother’s Day card and inside he’s called me Skinny Minnie. And then the other one is everybody telling me what a great bum I’ve got!!

New You: What would you say to someone thinking of starting the plan?

Andrea: Don’t hesitate. Join the plan. Enjoy the new you that will appear when it needs to. Because at the end of the day, we’re all on our own journey. We’re all different. We all lose weight in different ways. Trust the diet 100% and make it the journey that you want to be on. It’s easy to follow. And the support we get from Secret Slimmers is great. So, yeah, just join it. Don’t hesitate.

New You: And then finally, what’s next?

Andrea: I was going to stick at four and a half stone, but now I’ve decided to go for five. If I feel I’m struggling or it’s not working for me, then I’ll just maintain. I’ll keep my self care plan going, which I’ve got in place at the moment, which has been a big thing as well. And I’ll continue to support others in Secret Slimmers because that’s been so vital to me when doing the plan. We all have our ups and downs, we all have our good days and bad days. So if I can support others because of what I’ve achieved, then that’s what I’ll do.

Whether you want to lose half a stone or 10 stone*, have a slimmer figure, or are just looking to get maximum nutrition in minimum time, then New You can make the perfect partner to get you to where you want to be.

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th
