Michelle shares her 50lbs weight loss

Michelle shares her 50lbs weight loss

“My breathing was bad and I was always tired. Now my breathing has improved, I can walk better, my arthritis is better, my skin is better and I actually sleep a lot better!”

How much have you lost and how long did it take you?

So in total, I have lost 3st8lb so far and I started at 16st10lb. I started just after Christmas time so around 4 or 5 months.

How did you discover the New You Plan?

I was just searching for some weight loss plans on my phone and came across the New You Plan. So I did some research and read some reviews and I thought I would give it a try. I had tried healthy eating and some similar plans before but nothing seemed to work.

Describe how you felt before starting the plan?

I suffer from really bad arthritis, my breathing was bad and I was always tired and then with working nightshifts, it was terrible. My knees and hips were also really bad. When I got the packs and I saw how much was in them I was worried if I would be able to do it because I was eating quite a lot before compared to the products. I didn’t think 4 packs would be enough but I was actually full up, I think it was because I was drinking so much water. I have really enjoyed it so far I just ordered what I wanted at the time and then as I got used to it I ordered more. The water flavouring really helps with the water intake.

What was your first week like?

To be honest, I did get a really bad headache and I felt a bit dizzy after around the 3rd day so being at work wasn’t great, but I took some shakes with me and a few of the bars because they are sweeter so that really helped, but with some pain relief and drinking all of my water that really helped. I think it all disappeared around day 5.

What are your favourite meals and snacks and what would a normal day consist of on plan?

Usually, I would stick with the muesli or the Chocolate porridge for my breakfast because they taste good and they are quite easy to make up. At lunchtime, depending on where I am I would usually just take a soup with me. If I am at home I would usually make them up in the saucepan but if I’m out or at work, I would just make them up using the kettle. My favourite for the evening is the Broccoli Pasta, I would add some chilli and herbs to it.

What was your biggest non-scale victory?

I would say putting on the dress I wore to my daughter’s wedding which is now too big. I don’t have to buy anything which is elasticated anymore.

What was your biggest motivator for staying on plan?

My family has been amazing I would send them progress photos, and they ask me to send them one again in a few week’s time to support me and push me on. It’s been a great help.

How has the plan changed your life?

I feel so much better going out with friends and I don’t mind photos being taken of me now. I just have so much more energy it’s great.

How has your health improved?

My breathing has improved so much that even my doctor has said it has improved so much. I can walk better, my arthritis is better, my skin is better and I actually sleep a lot better.

Since losing weight, what is your happiest memory?

I would say everyone commenting on how quickly I lost the weight and how healthy I looked. A colleague has commented on how fast my hair has grown also which has been amazing. I have been able to take on new training. So
I am now a care assessor and I’m doing the last part of my NVQ. I am also training to become a teacher in moving and positioning. I can do so much more no I have so much more energy.

What is the nicest compliment you have received since losing weight?

I think it would be that I look healthier and being told I look nice in a dress. I don’t think my partner has ever seen me in a dress apart from my Daughters wedding and a few days ago I put on a dress and he said I looked really nice in it. Things like that are nice to hear.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting the plan?

Well if it was someone I knew they would be able to see how far I have come from when I started. I would say just give it a go and try it. I was sceptical at first but if you stick to the Plan, the weight does fall off. When I stood on the scales after the first week and I had lost 11lb I couldn’t believe it, it was amazing.

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th...
