Insight On DaVinci Robotic Surgery Houston And Its Merits

By Larry Wright

Nothing could ever scare the prostate cancer patients like the term surgery. The prostate is such a sensitive organ that any operation is bound to be accompanied by various side effects. However, such patients may finally have a sigh of relief upon hearing About the latest surgical technology dubbed the DaVinci robotic surgery Houston technique.

Robotic surgery is the latest technological advancement. It targets the field of surgical operations. It can be contrasted to the traditional method in which the operation was done manually. In this setup an advanced machine which is made up of arm like extensions is used in conducting the operations. The arms can be four or three. Two arms are used to do the operation; one arm is used an s a camera while the other arm is used to remove obstacles.

A three-dimensional imagery technique is used to view the internal parts of organ being operated on. The surgeon then controls the arms using a state of the art motion sensor technology. The arms are then directed to make the incisions. During the procedure, the machine has a vibration damping feature which controls the vibration hence increasing its precision.

The technique has marked advantages which give it an edge over the traditional one. First, there are fewer side effects. This is because the arms of these robotics are controlled to targeted areas. This is important as it ensures that most nerves and their endings are left unaffected.

The patients who undergo surgical procedures using this technique require shorter durations for recovery. In the open surgery technique, the muscles are weakened. This forces the patient to undergo pain management sessions which are costly and consume a lot of time. Using the Robotics is also a Saving when viewed in this angle.

The patient also has smaller scars once the procedure is done. This is especially important if the incisions are done in the open areas. In the traditional surgery more often than not there were scared tissues which were unaesthetic.

In open operation, most of the errors associated with the carelessness of the surgeons were reported. In some instances, the patient was reported to have surgical incision blades left on the body organs, and stitching was done. The probability of occurrence of such mistakes is almost zero as the equipment used to have a high precision.

There is a reduced risk of infection when the robotic technique is used. The equipment is sterilized before use there is minimal chances of infecting the open wound during the surgical procedure. This is because the number of people coming into contact with the open wound is low.

In the open surgical technique, there were cases in which the patients died from excessive loss of blood. This called for the need for a blood donor for a blood transfusion. Most of these operations never ended well although some patients managed to survive the encounter. Using this technology has less risk of bleeding as the incisions made are minor ones.

There are many other numerous examples which have not been sited. They include less pain and discomfort during the procedures, greater visualization, and better total output.

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th...
