By Lena Stephenson

The amount of hazards present on air is undeniable. Just look around. See how many factories are releasing those toxic gases on air. How many plants are throwing off their garbage on the waters. How about those power plants that release liquid substances that have the potential of harming the land. There is too much pollution. Sad thing is, we are the ones who are suffering from it.

Among the most common diseases that came out as a result of this heavy pollutions are the respiratory problems. This is the reason why lung function supplements are created and distributed to accredited drug stores nationwide. They are elements that boosts ones ability to combat the harm that airborne hadzard can do to our lungs.

Those who are working on fields that make them vulnerable to the substances find these materials helpful. If you are thinking of taking some of them, you should be reminded that there is a limit to what you are allowed. To ensure your safety, take note of the following things that you should not forget when dealing with these supplements.

Know the different supplements in the market. They come in variety. And while their basic function is to aid the lungs, the components from which they are created are different. This is exactly why they are classified under different names. Know some of them so you can easily consult your doctor about them.

Consult a physician. Of course, do not forget to consult a physician. Taking anything without his consent may result to some serious health concerns later on. If you have some existing health issues, then all the more reason why you should go and see one. The doctor will be able to tell you what will work best on the health status that you have.

Verify the side effects. The last thing you would want is to feel uncomfortable when what you need is something that will make you feel better and stronger. But there are supplements which can cause certain degree of discomfort. So if you do not want the hassle, then learn about the side effects ahead of time so you can check your alternatives.

Follow the prescriptions. For your own safety, do not deviate from what your doctor has prescribed. If indeed you feel like nothing seemed different, do take time to consult him first to ask if there is a need to increase your intake. Also, be realistic. The effect may not be immediate and you may not necessarily feel something different. Do not ask for some visible signs if there arent any.

Refrain from trying out things. Yes, the idea of experimenting may sound appealing. In fact, some of us might have already taken some of it in hopes of feeling something better from one supplement to another. Wrong. Ingesting anything without professional advise may just expose you to more harm. Never experiment when it comes to medicines.

Of course, eating the right foods rich in anti oxidants plus proper exercise remain the most effective ways of strengthening your respiratory system. But the supplements also help. Just be sure you have the right one on board to avoid some complications.
