£100K TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE: Rachael Lost 4st 11lbs* & Won £1000 Cash

£100K TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE: Rachael Lost 4st 11lbs* & Won £1000 Cash

At a routine GP appointment, Rachael was shocked that her weight had reached almost 16 stone and her blood pressure was high. Her knees were hurting and she felt really self conscious in her work uniform, so she knew she had to take control. After discovering The New You Plan, she has lost a life changing 4st 11lbs, her BMI is normal, her knees no longer hurt and her mental health has massively improved.

Here is her story…

New You: Rachael, why did you decide to join the challenge?

Rachael: I think it was just to push myself, because I’m probably not naturally somebody that engages a lot with social media. But just from the word go, the group has been absolutely fantastic. The inspiration, the support, just everything that I’ve got from that group. Right at the start, I just thought, let’s embrace this. Let’s get involved. We’re all on the same journey. We’ve all got the same goals. We all have the same difficulties and challenges. This is such a nice community. It felt good. It’s like a safe space.

I couldn’t believe when I won it because I’ve never won anything in my life. And I think the challenge is wonderful, obviously, and the prize is fantastic. But what I have got from this plan without winning a competition is just life-changing. It really is. So it’s just an added bonus. And I think from the start as well, I’ve really felt like The New You Plan really value their customers. I couldn’t believe it yesterday when I was told that I’d won. I was a bit speechless, which is unlike me, to be fair.

New You: We’d love to know how you heard about the plan!

Rachael: So it was just online. I think I saw an advert for it. Over the course of a couple of days I just kept looking back at it, reading about it, looking at the reviews etc. And I’ve never done anything like that before. So I was just trying to work out whether it was something I thought I could fit around my shift work. And after a couple of days, I just thought, let’s do this.

Getting started…

New You: What led to you starting the plan?

Rachael: In January 2023, I had my yearly GP check-up and I weighed in at my heaviest, which was 15st 12lbs. So I was really close to 16 stone and that was a bit of a wake-up call, really, because my blood pressure reading at that appointment was high as well. I knew I was at my heaviest and I wasn’t happy about it. Although I tried lots of different plans throughout that year, my weight just wasn’t shifting. I hadn’t found anything that was sustainable. I felt really self-conscious in my work uniform. Both my knees were hurting. And I knew that if I went to my doctor about it, the first thing he would say is that I was obese and it was down to my weight. So I saved myself a trip to the doctor and just knew that I needed to do something. I just felt really sluggish and lethargic as well and I was sleeping more than I needed to, which could have been related to mood as well because of how I was feeling. I just didn’t feel like myself.

New You: And tell us about that first week…

Rachael: I remember my first week on plan. I remember my first day and all of the products that I had. The first week was tough. I don’t think I struggled with headaches and withdrawal from the food I was eating in comparison to others. But there were a couple of days after shift that I ended up having food that wasn’t on plan. Although I did have a wobble, I just drew a line and got on with it because I knew that I had to follow and trust the plan, which was quite an unusual thing for me because normally, it’s so easy to throw the towel in, isn’t it? But I enjoyed all the products I had. I picked all my own products and tried everything and found some that I absolutely loved. I had no issue adapting to the packs – I thought they were all really tasty. So I was really impressed with that because I didn’t know what to expect.

And I think in my first week, I lost 5lbs, which was fantastic. I was happy with that as I knew that I’d had a little wobble, so 5lbs in my first week was really good and it just continued from there, really.

I think sometimes when you start, the end goal can just seem so big and so far away. It can really affect your mindset when you think, I’ve got such a big mountain to climb. But just each day, trust in the plan, trust in the process.

New You: What are your go-to meals & snacks?

Rachael: I absolutely love the Spicy Noodles. They were my absolute favourite in the early days. And the Muesli, absolutely loved that. I loved the crunch, the sweetness. Just absolutely ticked all the boxes for me. I brought a waffle maker and I use the Pancake mix to make waffles. I’ll add either the Chocolate Brownie or the Salted Caramel Cake and the cookies crushed up on top. The soups are really good as well. There’s nothing I don’t like. So it’s been good because it means I’ve been able to keep that variety going and have different packs every day. There’s just so much to choose from. And the bars are really good. I love all of them, and especially the Maple Almond one.

Life changing…

New You: How would you say the plan has changed your life?

Rachael: I’ve never felt so equipped to manage my weight. And now that I’m on my maintenance journey, I really feel that there’s after care, like a continuation, from total food replacement, The Switch program is absolutely fantastic. I still continue to use the New You Plan products daily because it’s my reminder that it’s a tool and it’s part of my life. I think going back to my old eating habits is where I’ve gone wrong so many times in the past. I’m 41 now and I just feel so positive about being able to continue and maintain my weight now I’m healthy, my BMI is healthy. And I know that I’ve got a toolbox, if you like. I feel empowered to have that and to use that if I need to. It has completely changed my life. And I’ve I’ve never felt like this with any other diet. I really have a positive mindset for the future.

I definitely think my mood’s improved. And without a doubt, I think being overweight and being as conscious and fed up as I was with how I looked was certainly a part of my mood. I no longer have achy joints or lower back pain after a busy day at work. And the knee pain that really prompted me to want to do something about my weight has also gone. I’ve stopped snoring and I’ve always been a snorer. So my husband is thrilled to bits because he’s a really light sleeper. So I think there’s lots of signs that losing the weight has improved my health, definitely. And my skin’s better, my hair’s better. Just all of those things that assure you that your body is getting everything it needs and is doing really well. That’s just another reason I loved the plan because I felt the best I’d ever felt. At no point did I ever think that this is hard, this is hard on my body, this is not good for me. I think the whole way through, I felt so good.

New You: What is the nicest compliment you have received since losing weight?

Rachael: Gosh, I’ve had so many compliments, especially from my work colleagues, because I think I’ve gone down three uniform sizes at work. I could ask for another new uniform because even the ones I’ve got now are a little bit big. My husband tells me every day that he’s really proud of me and I look fantastic. Somebody at work the other day said to me: “Oh, my gosh, you’re so tiny. I feel like I could pick you up and put you in my pocket.” It’s just been lovely, and it’s a massive motivator as well. It really boosts your confidence when people are noticing your hard work and your commitment to yourself. It’s brilliant.

New You: What would you say to someone thinking of starting the plan?

Rachael: I think my advice would be to look at the plan, research it and join Secret Slimmers. While you’re waiting for your first order to arrive, have a really good read through of the group because it helps get your mind set in the right place. And also it’s really motivating and inspiring. I do think accessing the group like I did and just embracing the whole program is a really good piece of advice I’d give to anybody that’s looking to start this type of diet.

Whether you want to lose half a stone or 10 stone*, have a slimmer figure, or are just looking to get maximum nutrition in minimum time, then New You can make the perfect partner to get you to where you want to be.

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th...
