A Positive Year, A Positive You

A Positive Year, A Positive You

It’s the last week of January already, where has the time gone?

To finish off the month, Pascale is encouraging you to adopt a positive mind more often.

Being positive impacts your life in so many ways, from how you react to situations to how you care for yourself. It’s so important when it comes to your physical and mental health, so why not make it an important part of your transformation journey as well?

To make a start, get yourself a notebook and pen to keep beside your bed. Each night before you go to sleep think and reflect on 3 good things that happened that day. After 7 days you will notice more and more good things that are happening throughout your days.

A positive thing can be:

  • Enjoying the coffee or New You shake you had for breakfast.
  • Your son passing his exam.
  • Completing some housework.
  • Receiving a ‘well done’ at work.
  • Avoiding a blip.

Once you’ve written down 3 positive things, make sure you reflect on them. Look at why each positive thing happened – and that’s the important part.

For example, you might say that you particularly enjoyed your New You shake because it was your first good decision of the day.

This week Pascale also teaches you the power of your language. The words you choose to use give you direction and perspective in your mind. Listen to how you talk to yourself, how you talk about your plan or situations as it plays a role in shaping how you think about yourself and how you approach your journey.

Reframe those unhelpful languages with the below language tricks:

  • I have to eat healthy TO I get to eat healthily so I can love life even more.
  • I can’t have the same meal as my family TO I choose to follow my plan so I can enjoy more fun moments outdoor with my family.
  • I am not at my weight goal TO I am not at my weight goal yet.

We’re all so good at being compassionate to those around us, it’s time we did the same to ourselves and speak to ourselves as we would a friend.

Putting yourself down will not motivate you, so be kind to yourself and give yourself the same advice that you would to someone else in the same situation.

To get help with bringing positivity into your life, make sure you join Pascale over on the Secret Slimmer’s Facebook group on Tuesday at 7 pm. Or if you can’t make it live, you can find the video any time after in the Guides section. Just remember, if you do join in live, you could win yourself £25 New You credit!

2022 is the year you’ll achieve the new you.

And just remember that a negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th
