£100K TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE: Dawn Lost 3st 10lbs* & WON £1000 Cash!

When Dawn reached 60, she was told she was pre-diabetic and she already had high blood pressure. She didn’t think that she’d be able to lose weight at 60, but she has proved that with the right meal plan and determination, anything in possible. She has lost 3st 10lbs* & dropped 5 dress sizes. She entered our Transformation Challenge for accountability, wowed our judges with her amazing progress and won £1000 cash.

Here is her story…

New You: Dawn, why did you decide to join the challenge?

Dawn: To give me some incentive to do it really. It helped me carry on so I wouldn’t give up. It was good to have another goal, alongside my goal weight – it gave me something to fight for.

New You: Was there anything that helped you stay on-track while doing the challenge?

Dawn: We have a family WhatsApp group and I’d share my results with them. And of course, my husband was my encourager.

New You: We’d love to know how you heard about the plan!

Dawn: Well, I did a similar plan before and I did quite well on it, but I didn’t maintain my weight loss. So when I decided I needed to lose some weight, I was on Google and found you there. I looked through quite a few plans and you were the one that looked better and the packs looked really good, so that’s why I chose you.

Getting started…

New You: What led to you starting the plan?

Dawn: I’ve always been on the bigger size and when I reached 60 I thought to myself, I can’t lose weight at my age. But then I had my yearly blood test and I had a pre-diabetic result, which scared me as I already had high blood pressure. Because of this, I knew I had to make a change.

New You: And tell us about that first week…

Dawn:The first week was hard. Day four was my worst. I had a headache and an awful taste in my mouth, but I carried on. Because I had been on a similar plan in the past, I knew it would go away. I knew it would pass and I would be all right. And it did.

New You: What are your go-to meals & snacks?

Dawn: I’ve definitely got a lot of favourites. I like the Chocolate Shake. I used to have that every night hot for my supper. I like the Chocolate Brownie and the Salted Caramel Cake too. All the Shakes are delicious and I love anything with caramel in it. The Caramel Shake with a wee bit of coffee added into it feels like such a treat.

Life changing…

New You: How would you say the plan has changed your life?

Dawn: It’s just phenomenal, really. I’m just overwhelmed about how easy I found it. I lost more weight doing this one than I did doing Exante. And I just couldn’t believe that I lost weight every single week and I found it was fantastic. Hand on heart, I can say I never went astray from the packs at all. Not even a little morsel. I stuck to it rigidly. Once you’ve got in that mindset that you really want to do it, the first couple of weeks, you can lose quite a lot. Once I’d done that, I was ready for anything.

I’ve gone from a clothes size 18/20 to 10/12 I feel FAB U LOUS. Thank-you New You for helping me find ME. I feel so much more confident, I’m off my medication for high blood pressure and my pre diabetic result was normal after being on plan for only a few months.

New You: What is the nicest compliment you have received since losing weight?

Dawn: My husband always tells me I look amazing anyway, every single day. But there’s a lady that runs our chemist up by where our doctors is. And every time I see her, she tells me that I look amazing. She calls me Skinny Minnie now and she can’t believe how well I look.

New You: What would you say to someone thinking of starting the plan?

Dawn: I would say, go for it. It’s the best thing that I ever did.

New You: And then finally, what’s next?

Dawn: I’m doing one day a week at the moment to see if I can maintain my weight loss. If it does start to creep up, then I’ll try two days a week. We eat healthy, low fat meals now so I know I can do this.

Whether you want to lose half a stone or 10 stone*, have a slimmer figure, or are just looking to get maximum nutrition in minimum time, then New You can make the perfect partner to get you to where you want to be.

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th...
