Today I want to tell you all about the 2 main reasons why I believe The New You Plan has been able to thrive for 15 years while many of our competitors have folded….
Over the last 15 years, I’ve watched so many competitors come and go. While some diet businesses have faded, The New You Plan has grown stronger – and I truly believe there are two main reasons why.
Reason 1: I Am My Customer
From the very beginning, I’ve felt a deep connection with every single customer. I relate to every story, every struggle, and every triumph because I’ve been through so many of those same experiences myself.
So many of my competitors where owned by a group of men who sat around a board table. They has no connection to the customer, where as I feel like I am my customer – I see myself in every customer.
I know what it’s like to battle with my weight, to have life throw curve ball after curve ball at me, to make progress and then lose myself again in the chaos of life. I know the highs and the lows of this journey. I know the frustration, the sadness and the determination to try again.
Sometimes, I think I’ve faced so many challenges in my own life just so I could better understand and support others. It’s given me an unending empathy, compassion, and love for every customer who comes into our community. I truly see myself in all of you and I feel inspired every day by the resilience and courage of everyone in our community. YOU ARE ALL TRULY AMAZING!
Because of this, I’ve been adamant that our community must be a no-judgement zone – a place where anyone can come and feel inspired, motivated, and encouraged. The world is full of negativity, and I wanted The New You Plan to be a safe space for positivity, growth, and transformation.
It’s a community that people want to stay connected too!
Reason 2: Our Community is THE BEST!
When I started out with the New You Plan – I was focused on “building a community of inspiring people focused on transformation” – Selling the meal replacements was really a means to create the community. The COMMUNITY was what I was building – it was the people I wanted to pour my heart and soul into. Our community isn’t just a group – it’s a family. It’s a place where people cheer each other on, share tips, and celebrate wins, no matter how small.
I love that so many of my first customers are still part of our community!
I still remember one of my first customers called Alison, she found me online. We chatted for ages on the phone about her goals and her journey. I always felt so connected and inspired by everyone’s unique journey and determination!

| Emer was part of our community when there was less than 100 people. We were both going through many of shared life experiences together in 2010, 2011. We have literally watched each others children grow up through social media over the last 13 years. Emer is just an inspiring member – and she came to my house in 2014 for a New You Photoshoot! And we met up for a Spa day in Dublin – which is when we took this selfie! Today, that same sense of connection and support is at the heart of our 29,000-strong Facebook Secret Slimmers Community. It’s amazing to see people sharing their stories, lifting each other up, and helping one another stay on track. I couldn’t be prouder of the positivity that flows through this group. I am IN AWE of everyone in this group! |
| I hired a new team member just last week and added her to the community – and she said that she has been part of many facebook groups in her career but she has NEVER SEEN ANYTHING like the energy and positivity of our SECRET SLIMMERS GROUP! Our community is UNIQUE… Secret Slimmers is the Secret Sauce that makes the New You Plan a success! “Surround Yourself With People On The Same Mission As You.” NEW YOU COMMUNITY IS INSPIRING – because everyone is on a mission to feel better, look better, make better decisions, and think better thoughts – everyone in our community wants to take action to move towards the next best version of who they want to be. The energy and the positivity is CONTAGIOUS! We have an AMAZING team (big shout out to Cat our new Customer Journey Manager & Glynis Our FB Admin) and customer services team lead by Grant – who has been with me since 2012! Together everyone works together to keep the community a positive place. I appreciate my team who have stood by me over the years and shown such loyalty throughout the hard times. And I am so greatful to the new management team that has recently come on board to help me to take NYP to the Next Level over the next 5 years! |
