Day 5/11 – THE END OF ERA – we are saying goodbye….

In today’s 15th Birthday Blog Series, Julz shares why it’s the end of an era but also a time to embrace new opportunities. Find out why this farewell is emotional and how it mirrors the transformative process – challenging at first but ultimately rewarding.

It’s day 5 of my New You Plan 15th Birthday Blog Series! With only 5 more Sundays left in 2024 – a lot is going to be changing in the next month, and I want to let you know about the biggest change of all…

It’s an END OF AN ERA…

This series is all about celebrating our incredible 15-year journey, and today, I have a story to share that feels deeply personal. It’s about saying goodbye to something that’s been part of my life for so long, but also about embracing an exciting new future.

But I learned to keep going, even when it felt impossible.

The Story of Our Website: A Labour of Love

When I started The New You Plan in November 2009, my first website was as basic as they come. Customers placed their orders, downloaded an Excel spreadsheet, and emailed me their choices. It was a manual process – and honestly, a logistical headache – but it worked for the early days when I had very little orders.

Once I got some momentum and I was doing a 5 or more ordered a day it became clear that we needed a more sophisticated system.

I turned to Dave, a developer I had worked with before. Together, we didn’t just build a website – we built something entirely bespoke, designed specifically for the needs of The New You Plan and our growing community. There was no other website like it, and as the years went by many of our competitors copied our bundle idea.

Over the years, this website became so much more than an e-commerce platform. It evolved into the centre of our business, customised and improved continuously to reflect our journey. Every feature we’ve added – from stock management to tracking tools – has been crafted with care, shaped by the lessons we’ve learned along the way.
This website has been a constant – growing with us as we went from processing 200 orders a month to sometimes thousands in a single day. It’s not just a tool – it’s a reflection of everything we’ve built together.

That’s why saying goodbye to it is emotional for me. It’s been with us through every high and low, and it feels like a personal chapter of my life is closing.

On the blog I have shared all my personal stories, from having my kids, new you milestones, and personal struggles, it has been a diary of my life over the last 15 years… and it makes me feel so nostalgic knowing that this is the END OF AN ERA – the most transformative ERA of my life…

Why We’re Moving to A New Website

In December, we’re moving to a modern platform used by many top brands. While this change is emotional, it’s also exciting because it opens up new opportunities to make your experience even better:

– A brand-new rewards program to celebrate your loyalty and milestones.
– A fresh, modern design for a smoother shopping experience.
– More engaging content to support your transformation.
– Exciting new features that will make The New You Plan even more helpful for you over time.

While the transition might have its challenges, and some features that you are used to might not be available, I know that together, we’ll thrive in this new chapter.

How This Mirrors Transformation

This change reminds me of starting the plan. In the beginning, making changes to your habits and routines can feel hard. You might need to rethink:

– How you celebrate.
– How you deal with stress or sadness.
– How you approach food and daily choices.

But just like this website transition, the effort is worth it. Transformation is messy in the middle but beautiful in the end.

As one of my favourite quotes says:

“Change is hard at the start,
messy in the middle,
but beautiful in the end.”

This applies to so much in life – whether it’s creating a healthier, happier you or taking our business to the next level.

Exciting Times Ahead

We’re planning to launch the new website in December, during our quietest month, so the team has time to adjust before the busy New Year season.

As we prepare to say goodbye to the current website, I’m filled with gratitude for everything it’s brought to my life and to yours… now it’s time to embrace what’s next.
Exciting times ahead, a new era! (But yes prepare for landing….. )Nothing in life is ever straight forward and I have learned to expect that, and to accept that, and to not get too upset when things go wrong, because in the end everything can always be sorted, solutions can always be found, and everything always works out OK in the end.

2025 is going to be the year to THRIVE – for you, and for everyone at The New You Plan. Together, we’re building something beautiful, and I’m so excited to see what’s ahead for us all!

MUCH LOVE,
Julz xox

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th...

Celebrating World Diabetes Day: How Our Customers Reversed Theirs World Diabetes Day is more than just a global health event; it’s an opportunity for each of us to reassess our health goals and make effective changes. At The New You Plan, we take this day to highlight the potential for real transformative health shifts, particularly concerning Type 2 diabetes.
