Day 1/11 – How the New You Plan Started 15 Years Ago

Day 1/11 – How the New You Plan Started 15 Years Ago

Take A Trip Down Memory Lane With Julie-Ann…

The New You Plan is celebrating its 15th birthday this month 🎉

I started The New You Plan in November 2009, and I haven’t shared much about how it all began… but what a wild adventure it has been! 😊

Over the next 10 days, I’ll share some snippets about how it all started and grew into the amazing community we have today. I am so grateful that YOU are part of our community, whether you have been with us for 15 years, 10 years, 5 years, 5 months or 5 minutes… I Appreciate You!

November is a double birthday month, because not only is it the New You Plan’s birthday on the first day of the month, but it is my birthday on the last day of the month! So I have made a commitment to share a little story from my 15 years of running the New You Plan every day between now and my birthday!

I turned £400 into £100,000 in my first year!

The New You Plan began with just £400 – it was the last bit of credit I had left on my card. I was so determined to make it work. I started as an agent for another diet company, using that £400 to buy stock. I sold it all in a few weeks and reinvested every penny I made, and bought more stock. I have been basically repeating this process now for 15 years!

In my first year I set myself a big goal: to make £100,000 in 2010. At first, it seemed outrageous, but when I broke it down, it was £273 a day. That felt achievable. I put post-it notes with “273” all around my house – on the bathroom mirror, bedroom door, and even my kitchen. I got some strange looks from people who visited my house lol The 273 post it notes kept me focused on what my financial goal was but every day, I had to put all my energy and attention on the actions that would lead to results.

I had to promote the new you plan, find ways to help people discover it, explain what I was offering, and build trust. When someone purchased, I worked hard to wow them, inspire them, and help them succeed on plan so they’d want to stay on plan and tell their friends. Trust The Process Of Success Some days, I made no money at all. But I knew that if I focused on my daily actions and if I stayed consistent, momentum would come. I trusted the process, and over time, my daily average grew until I hit that £273 average daily sales target.

This same principle applies to weight loss. If you need to lose 5 stone, don’t focus on the 5 stone, focus on 3.5 pounds a week (that is 1 stone a month). If you want to lose a stone in a month, you don’t just focus on the number. You focus on the daily actions that will result in creating a big calorie deficit so you can lose 1 stone in a month:

  • Stick to your four products every day.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Walk as much as possible and stay active.
  • Prioritise good sleep.
  • Track your progress in all of the areas above – what you focus on improves!

These actions, done consistently, are what lead to results. It might feel slow at times, but if you trust the process, momentum will come, and those small daily efforts will add up to something amazing. One of the quotes I have frequently used over the last 15 years is this one…

“Ordinary Things Consistently Done, Create Extraordinary Results!”

New You was Inspired By A BUST ICELANDIC BANK!

When I first asked the diet company if I could become an agent, they told me I needed a company name. The problem was… I didn’t have one! So, on the spot, I said, “Well, you’re called Be Yu, so I’ll call my company New You.” And just like that, New You was born. Then they asked me for a logo, which I also didn’t have. I told them, “Sure, I’ll send one over.” That night, I called a friend who was a graphic designer. I’d just seen a story on the news about an Icelandic bank that went bust, and I thought their logo looked great. So, I asked my friend to create a logo for New You inspired by that bank’s design. Within minutes, I had a name, a logo, and the beginnings of what would become The New You Plan….

This is the bank logo that inspired The New You Plan Logo!

And here you can see that first logo, in the first video I ever made to promote my company that I started with £400 15 years ago in November 2009.

Thank you for being part of The New You Plan’s story, whether you’ve been with us for 15 years or just joined recently. I am so grateful to you – for trusting in our plan and for being part of our community.

Over the next 10 days I will be sharing stories from the past 15 years, fun facts, funny stories, and also some hurtful stories, as everything in life has 3 sides, the good, the bad and the ugly! I

I will also be sharing with you some exciting plans that we are working on for the next 15 years! I know 15 years in business is a quite a long time, but I personally still feel like I am just starting out.

I still have DAY ONE mentality. I still get the BUZZ for the community, the products, the website, the customers, my team, and the challenges! Running a business is like playing a never-ending chess game, there is always a new challenge and something to figure out! It never stops, and I never want it to, as I love it.

I truly believe that The New You Plan and myself, personally – are both entering a new exciting season in our lives. 2024 marks the end of an era…. 2025 is the year to THRIVE!

We have so many exciting projects lined up…. Keep an eye out for my daily emails – with the odd promotion thrown in! 🙂

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th...
