Getting started…

New You: What led to you starting the plan?

Angela: I was desperate. I had lost weight before, but was stuck for years at a weight, that still wasn’t healthy at all. I had a doctor’s appointment in December 2022. My diabetes got out of control and he diagnosed a fatty liver. My blood work was a disaster as well. I was devastated. I knew I had to do something. And I did research, which led me to The New Plan.

New You: And tell us about that first week…

Angela: I remember the first day being easy. I was excited and everything was tasting so good. My first Shake was the Vanilla Shake. And I remember thinking, if they are all so good, there won’t be a problem.
On the second day, I got hungry and my mind realised that I had a long way to go. It was difficult. But I kind of was on a mission. On the fifth day a headache hit and I had a hot head. It felt like a fever, but I had about this in Secret Slimmers so I knew it was just my body detoxing. During the first week, I was struggling a bit. But I had my goal in mind: loosing weight, get a healthy liver and getting better blood sugar levels. That helped me through it.

New You: What are your go-to meals & snacks?

Angela: There are so many – that’s what I like about The New You Plan, the great variety. My favourites at the moment are the Spaghetti Bolognese, Ham and Mushroom Pasta Soup, Tomato Soup, Lemon Yoghurt Bar, Crispy Caramel Bar, Cookies and Cream Shake, Cafe Latte Shake, Cinnamon Roll Shake, Bacon Chips, Chicken Chips… Oh well, I think the list could go on forever. Would be easier to list the ones I don’t like, because this list would be a very short one?!

Life changing results…

How would you say the plan has changed your life?

Angela: Where to start? It changed completelyI improved my health so much. My fatty liver is gone and my blood works are just fine. In June 2023 my doctor allowed me to get rid of my medication for diabetes. Since October 2023 my blood sugar is in a very healthy range without any medication. I am more activeI go for hikes, which is something I never thought would be possible. Even hikes that go uphill, I am not scared of, because I know, I will handle one step at a time, just like the weight loss. I am more confident. I show myself more. And I am starting training to become a coach.

New You: What has being on plan taught?

Angela: I can achieve a lot, with the right tools. I am worth taking care of.

New You: How has maintaining your weight loss been?

Angela: For the first time, maintaining my weight loss seems achievable. The SWITCH plan definitely helps. And the products as well.

New You: Any memorable non-scale victories you’d like to share?

Angela: Improving my health and getting rid of the diabetes feels like a dream.

New You: What is the nicest compliment you have received since losing weight?

Angela: I get so many compliments now and I now can take them. But the best one was from my daughter when she said I look happy and healthier now.

New You: If you could go back in time to when you were beginning the plan, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Angela: Never give up. Struggling is part of my life and part of my journey. But I can do it. Stay strong!

Whether you want to lose half a stone or 10 stone*, have a slimmer figure, or are just looking to get maximum nutrition in minimum time, then New You can make the perfect partner to get you to where you want to be.

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life

Cells: The Building Blocks of Life The human body contains millions of cells that rely on healthy nutrition like proteins, vitamins and minerals. While the body can create some of these nutrients, it also requires essential vitamins and minerals from food sources. Every living organism depends on its cells to function normally. Often referred to as “the building blocks of life,” cells are the biological, structural and functional units that carry out tasks in an organism. A collection of cells working together is called a tissue, while a series of tissues performing organized functions are called organs. The human body contains trillions of cells, all with varying tasks that help support bodily organs; these include skin cells, nerve cells, blood cells, barrier function cells (supporting the lungs, gut) and more. Cells rely on good nutrition for energy production and to prevent oxidative damage. The anatomy of a cell Cells in the human body are so tiny that they are invisible to th...
